The Niger State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in its effort to provide adequate security and safeguard critical national assets and Infrastructure, deployed 1,945 personnel to ensure a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Command through its spokesperson, DSC Abubakar Rabiu Muti, and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Minna, the state capital.
The deployed personnel, according to Muti, will work to ensure that the celebration is peaceful and incident-free.

“The State Commandant, Adamu Abdullahi Kambra has instructed Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to supervise and guarantee the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
“Kambra stated that the deployment of 1,600 personnel was to ensure adequate security coverage throughout the state and that the NSCDC would collaborate and work with other sister security agencies to ensure a seamless and secure celebration.
“The Commandant emphasised that in terms of vigilance, the public is encouraged to report any suspicious movements or activities to the security agencies.
“The NSCDC Niger State Command wishes to assure the public of its commitment to providing top-notch security services during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration. Commandant Kambra also appreciated the continued support of the Commandant General NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni, OFR, and the Governor of Niger State, Hon. Mohammed Umaru Mohammed Bago, for their unwavering support to the Corps.
“The State Commandant, while assuring the public, expressed confidence that the deployment of 1,945 personnel will ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all. He wishes all Nigerlites a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration,” the statement read.
