Muslim faithful in Nigeria have been admonished to imbibe all the lessons of the Ramadan fast to build their spiritual lives.
The Vice President, General Nigeria Supreme Council of Islamics, and Sheik of Umuofor Mosque in Oguta Council Area of Imo State, Dr Abdulfatai Chimaeze Emetuma advised against his preaching at the Eid El-Fitr celebration.
He said that Eid El-Fitr is all about celebrating the end of the 29th-30 days of fasting by all Muslims across the whole world
The Sheik pointed out that fasting has been made compulsory for all Muslims to fear Allah.
He said: “The basis of the fasting is that after making the sacrifices of denial of sexual intercourse with one legal spouse, food amongst other things at the end, you have to break the fast”.

The traditional ruler of Umuofor Ancient Kingdom reminded the Muslim worshippers that the sacrifices made would only make sense if they imbibed all that they had done, benefited and learnt during the Ramadan period
He appealed to them to continue with the self-perseverance, patience, and endurance that pervaded the Muslim month of Ramadan
He said: “Our mindset determines our lives, the way we go as a nation. if our mindset is good, our country will be good.”
The Sheik called on Nigerians to henceforth show perseverance and pray for the nation Nigeria irrespective of her challenges for peace and unity in the land.
He said: “This is the only country we have, if we destroy it, we may not have another place to go to”.
