Over 500 residents of Itire-Ikate LCDA benefited from the cash palliative distribution by the Chairman of the council, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira.
During the distribution held at the council secretariat on Friday, residents were given ₦20,000 each.
According to the council chairman, the initiative was targeted at providing the needed financial assistance to the needy, especially during these economically challenging times.
In his remarks, Apatira emphasized his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of residents while also assuring them of his administration’s commitment to promoting economic stability and social well-being within the community.
He said, “The cash support program was designed to ease the burden on vulnerable residents. It is aimed at ensuring that they have the means to cater to essential needs. With the current economic realities affecting many households, this intervention serves as a timely response to alleviate financial hardship.”
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a much-needed intervention.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Kudirat Balogun, praised Hon. Apatira’s leadership, stating that the ₦20,000 support came at the right time. She noted that such initiatives reflect a government that truly listens to and cares for its people.
Another recipient, Mr. Adewale Olorunfemi, commended the transparency of the distribution process. He highlighted that the initiative was well-organized, ensuring that those in need benefited fairly. He also expressed hope that more programs of this nature would be introduced in the future.
