Rights activist and convener of RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore has criticised Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State over his hotel project in the state.
Sowore knocked Obaseki for building a 170-room “Edo Radisson Hotel” with assurance to complete the building by November and ignoring the construction of a 1,700-room hostel for students in the state throughout his 8-year tenure.
Obaseki, had, while inspecting the project on Tuesday, said: “A great amount of work has been done in the last three months, as the facial aspect of the hotel is being cleaned up and a lot of work is going on in all the floors.
“I am quite satisfied with the progress of work as we are making very fast progress. We are optimistic that the project will be completed in due time.
“This project will be completed before I leave office in November 2024.”
Reacting, Sowore posted on X: “Here is Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, inspecting a 170-room “Edo Radisson Hotel” threatening that it must be completed by November 2024, makes me wonder why his likes never built a 1,700-room students’ hostel throughout his 8-year tenure looking precisely like these hotel rooms. Wicked People!”
