Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo State governorship election scheduled to hold in September, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has commiserated with the General Secretary of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Dr Iyobosa Uwugiaren, over the death of his father, Chief Uwugiaren Enabulele.
In a statement personally signed by Senator Okpebholo and made available to newsmen, the governorship candidate said that from the various condolence messages so far, it is obvious that Chief Enabulele was a worthy community leader in Urhonigbe town, Edo State.
He said though he died at the ripe age of 102 years, the late Enabulele, who was the Odionwere of Idunwem-Egbo, Urhonigbe in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, will not be forgotten.
Okpebholo prayed to God to grant the family, his community, and well-wishers the fortitude to bear the loss.
“Dr Iyobosa Uwugiaren, Editor, Nation’s Capital/Member, Editorial Board of Thisday Newspapers and General Secretary, Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), is a worthy son of Edo State.
“The sad demise of his father at a time when his wisdom is needed is unfortunate. As humans, we can’t question God. We can only pray to Him to come to the aid of his family at this trying time.
“The APC family in Edo State and the good people of Edo State will stand firmly with the family at this very difficult time. May Papa’s soul rest in peace, amen.”
