The Edo State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service has a new controller, Sunday Oyakhire.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Suleman Aminu, announced this in a statement on Wednesday in Benin, the state capital.
Aminu stated that Oyakhire takes over from Assistant Controller General of Corrections Philomena Emehinola, who has been deployed to the National Headquarters following her promotion from the rank of Controller of Corrections.
The command’s spokesperson described Oyakhire as a seasoned and professional officer.
Before his elevation, the new controller served as the officer in charge of the Maximum Security Custodial Centre in Enugu.
According to Aminu, Oyakhire has previously headed several custodial centres in the state during his career, including the medium security custodial centres in Auchi, Oko, and Ubiaja.
