The vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has reacted to the rising cost of living in Nigeria.
The situation of the current economic hardship in Nigeria has led to outbreak of protests in some parts of the country.
Arogidigba Global Journal reports that the youths in Oyo State on Monday staged protest against the president Bola Tinubu-led government
The protesters carried placards with different inscriptions such as ‘End food hike and inflation’, ‘The poor is starving’ and ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises’, amongst others.
The development came after similar protests broke out in Kano State and Minna, the Niger State, capital and other areas.
Reacting to the development in a post on his official X account on Tuesday, Datti-Baba described the situation as the consequences of the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
“This is the fastest election consequences I have ever seen since I was born. It took only eight
months for everything to crumble.”
This is coming at a time when Nigeria is facing severe security challenges, including banditry, kidnappings and attacks by different terrorist groups.
He wrote;
