A truck driver died on Ojuelegba Bridge in Lagos on Monday when he bought trapped in a a number of collision involving two different vehicles.
His assistant escaped unscathed, nevertheless.
Everlasting Secretary on the Lagos State Emergency Administration Company, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, made the announcement.
“A LASEMA Response Crew encountered a number of accidents which concerned three articulated vehicles on Ojuelegba Bridge at 1.37 a.m. whereas getting back from a restoration operation within the Ijora axis of Lagos.
“The accident concerned two vehicles laden with sand and a 3rd one laden with rooster feed.
“The lead truck, laden with sand, reportedly suffered a mechanical error in movement, which resulted in a sudden halt of motion.
“The 2 different vehicles, dashing from the rear, rammed into the primary truck, trapping the deceased,’’ he said.
Oke-Osanyintolu added that the corpse had been extricated and brought to a morgue.
“All affected automobiles have been recovered off the bridge to the LASTMA workplace at Iponri, Surulere.
“The Ojuelegba Bridge has been re-opened for secure and straightforward vehicular motion,’’ he said.
