The Zamfara State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tukur Umar Danfulani has cautioned members in the state against participating in the planned nationwide protest and says it is likely to be hijacked by hoodlums.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by Zamfara State APC Publicity secretary, Yusuf Idris said APC at the national headquarters.
“I was at the APC National Headquarters where I attended a meeting between state executives of the party from all the 36 states of the federation and Abuja held with the National Working Committee members and chaired by the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in Abuja over the impending protest.
“I found it very imperative to let our party’s voice to make this call due to the insecurity situation bedevilling our dear state of Zamfara and the need for Nigeria’s stability as one united nation.
“There may likely criminals who have continued to make life highly unbearable to the people taking over the protest and making the security situation worse, let us think wisely to avoid wanton destruction of our country in the name of protest.
“Like what happened in Sudan the people protested for the hike of bread price but now they are buying bread at five times than cost before, many properties, government infrastructures, businesses, health facilities were all destroyed and a lot of people were rendered homeless.”
He further pointed out what happened in Libya, Syria, and most current one in Kenya so let’s resolve our grievances through negotiation and dialogue because no country will progress through protest that will lead to anarchy if highjacked by hoodlums.
“Our President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a listening leader who is doing his best to make Nigeria a better place to all.
“He is the only president that took the Nigeria governors to supreme court in order to ensure that government at the grassroots is fully functioning which I believe with local government areas having full autonomy, issues of unemployment, insecurity, hardship and other criminalities will become history in the country,” he said.
