Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has called on candidates of the opposition parties in the state governorship election to team up with him to develop the state.
The Supreme Court on Friday affirmed Oborevwori as the duly elected governor of Delta State.
The apex court dismissed the appeal by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege, and the Labour Party and its candidate, Ken Pella as well as the appeal by Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party against the Delta state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.
The court said their appeals were lacking in merits.
Speaking shortly after the judgment in Abuja, the governor said there was no winner and loser in the election.
He said, “You have shown me love. I and my Deputy will not disappoint you. We will continue to serve all Deltans with renewed vigour and commitment. What happened in the court today is a victory for all Deltans.
“I am now poised to fully implement my plans of Meaningful Development, Opportunities for all, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security for all Deltans.
“There is no winner and loser. I call on the opposition parties in the state to join in the task of developing the state.”
