Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has extended his warm felicitations to all Muslims faithful as they commence the holy month of Ramadan today and urged them to continue to pray for a peaceful and united Nigeria.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill made available to newsmen on Saturday, Otu, who described Ramadan as the holy month of spiritual rejuvenation, self-reflection, discipline, and generosity, urged all Muslims to seize the opportunity of the holy month to rededicate themselves to the values of compassion, forgiveness, and mercy.
He said, “The month of Ramadan is a sacred period for spiritual reflection, fasting, and charity. I urge all Muslims to use this opportunity to pray to Allah, the Almighty God, for the unity and stability of Nigeria, where peace and justice shall reign.
“As we commemorate this holy month, please remember the less privileged, the vulnerable, and the marginalized; reach out to them with kindness, generosity, and empathy,” the statement added.
The Governor wishes all the Muslim faithful a peaceful, blessed, and rewarding Ramadan, even as he assured them of his continuous disposition in ensuring the ‘season of sweetness’ is felt by all without religious or ethnic boundaries.
