The Chairman of Odukpani Local Government Area in Cross River State Hon. Etim Asido has called on investors to take advantage of the huge agricultural potentials of the area.
Hon. Asido made this known during the Odukpani Day at the 2024 Cross River Trade Fair.
The Council boss whose speech was made available by his Chief Press Secretary, Arit Ndem said “Odukpani is one of the biggest council areas in the state and is rich in very fertile lands, agriculture potentials, raw materials for various foods, culture and tourism, to mention just a few.
“We in Odukpani is open for business, investments and will partner with any prospective investor to develop our council.
“We also offer to create the enabling environment for anyone interested in investing in our area particularly in agriculture and agro based businesses.
“We have vast areas within our area which can help potential investors open up oil palm estates, poultry farms, fish ponds, cassava farms, yam cultivation, to mention just a few”, he said.
Hon. Asido said his administration will soon commence an aggressive cultivation of oil palm seedlings some of which will be distributed to public schools within the area.
This he explained will help these schools mentor young pupils on oil palm farming and also help the schools generate income to maintain their facilities.
He thanked the governor for the fair saying it is a bold attempt by the present administration to relaunch the economy of the state and the council fully aligns with the initiative.
