The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has restrained the Central Council of Ibadan Indigene (CCII) from conducting its biannual election slated for Friday.
Justice Ladiran Akintola, in his ruling on the Motion of Ex-parte brought before the Court by Mr. Oloko Adeola Sulaiman through his counsel, Hussein Afolabi ordered the stoppage of the election.

The Claimant has sought an order of Interim Injunction restraining the defendants, the Incorporated Trustees of the CCII, Dr. M.K. Lawal and Mrs Oyesola chairman and Secretary of the Electoral Committee from conducting, organizing or proceeding with the CCII election scheduled for April 4, 2025 or any date.
Justice Ladiran in ruling said, “Having carefully considered the Claimant/Applicant”s Motion Ex-parte together with the affidavit in support on the one hand, having also considered the affidavit of urgency filed along as well as the written address of Counsel, this Court is satisfied that the Claimant/Applicant has successfully made out a case for urgent intervention of this Court at this stage of the process as a delay might foist on the Claimant an irreversible state of helplesness.
Accordingly, this Court finds merit in the Claimant Application motion for the order and it is hereby ordered as prayed.
