The Brigade Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Ondo State, Brigadier General John Lar, has stated that the relationship between the Nigerian Army and the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has turned into a strong bond that can no longer be broken.
According to Lar, corps members are precious to the Nigerian Army, stressing that their operation is all-encompassing and would provide maximum security to the members of the service as an integral part of society.
The Brigade Commander stated this while receiving the new State Coordinator of NYSC, Samuel Pepple, in his office.
Lar assured the new helmsman of the scheme of the maximum cooperation of the Brigade.
He said, “The Federal Government of Nigeria, parents, and society at large have invested massively in the lives of these patriotic Nigerians who have obeyed the clarion call to serve the nation.
“I want to give my word now that we shall do all within our legitimate duties to protect all and sundry.”
On his part, the new State Coordinator said, “Your acceptance to have me in the audience within very short notice shows the pragmatism of your leadership and the dynamism that the prestigious institution, the Nigerian Army, is noted for.
“We salute your administrative style, and we wish you turbulent-free tenure.”
