Aggrieved supporters of eight suspended members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly have staged a peaceful demonstration of the suspension of the members in the state.
The aggrieved constituents on Tuesday described the suspension as wickedness to the people who elected them, saying the state house of Assembly should do justice and return their representatives to continue with their normal representation in the state.
Speaking to newsmen during the protest at the state house of assembly, the team leader of the aggrieved constituents Saifullahi Abdullahi described the suspension of their eight members by the Zamfara state house of assembly under the leadership of the speaker Hon Bilyaminu Moriki as undemocratic.

“Our members were suspended for the past four months now, we have no representatives in our constituencies, and we were left in terms of deliberating on the development of our areas.”
“We missed so many opportunities in our various constituencies since the beginning of the suspension of our members, we need their immediate return to the house,” they said.
“We are appealing to Zamfara state governor Dauda Lawal to intervene for the immediate reinstatement of our representatives into the state assembly”.
It was gathered that eight members representing Maru, Bungudu, Bukkuyum, Gummi, Maradun, Tsafe, Bakura and Talata Mafara local government areas at Zamfara, the state house of assembly were suspended for allegedly sitting without the speaker Hon Bilyaminu Moriki in the state.
