Comptroller Mohammed Shuaibu on Wednesday assumed duty as the 28th Customs Area Controller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone A, the Customs unit responsible for overseeing the South-West zone of Nigeria.
Speaking at the brief handing-over ceremony held at the conference hall of the Unit in Ikeja, Lagos, the new helmsman pledged to deploy his wealth of experience to navigate the complexities of the Unit.
Comptroller Mohammed Shuaibu solicited the support and maximum cooperation of the officers and men of the Unit in order to deliver on the mandates of the Service.

He emphasised the importance of adhering to the Service’s Seven Golden Rules (7Cs), which should always guide the actions and decisions of officers.
The new Comptroller expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for the opportunity to serve as Comptroller of FOU Zone A.
He expressed optimism that the Unit would excel in fulfilling its mandates.
Earlier in his address, the outgoing Controller of the Unit, Comptroller Kolapo Oladeji, urged the new Comptroller to sustain the Unit’s momentum by keeping the flag flying.
He expressed confidence in Shuaibu’s ability to further enhance the efficiency of the Unit.
Oladeji thanked the CGC and the management team for the opportunity to serve and appreciated the support of the officers and men under his leadership.
Comptroller Shuaibu, a seasoned officer par excellence, has served in various capacities across several Customs formations.
