The residents of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State have expressed joy over the accessible road network and other infrastructure provided by the Kaduna State Government.

According to the community, the access roads have helped curb the current security challenges and improve agricultural productivity in the area.

They made this disclosure during a fact-finding visit by the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and the media on Friday.

Speaking to the media, a resident, Daniel Yakubu Sisinkobo, said that aside from addressing the security challenges that have plagued the area for some time, the road network will not only facilitate responses to any security threats but also encourage residents to return to their homes and farms.

According to him, the 12.5 km road from Kasuwar Magani to Wusar will benefit farmers, as selling their farm produce had previously been problematic due to the lack of accessible roads.

He, however, stressed that the road, which is 80% completed, has enabled farmers to transport their farm produce to the market without hassle.

Similarly, the Village Head of U/Aku, John Makadashi, said the 13 km road from Fadama Kororo to Kutura has made communities in the axis, which were previously prey to bandits and other criminal elements, safer.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for remembering the people of Kajuru LGA in his efforts to end the insecurity affecting the area through road construction.

Corroborating this, the Executive Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Area, Hon. Dauda Madaki, disclosed that before the ongoing road construction from Fadama Kororo to Kutura, it usually took security operatives two hours to respond to distress calls, which made the area a haven for bandits.

He, however, said that this is now a thing of the past, as it only takes security operatives thirty minutes to reach Kutura, which has scared away the bandits, making the area safer.

He added that before the road construction, most of the community residents had vacated their homes for safer zones, saying the situation is gradually improving as they are now returning home, thanks to the accessible road networks initiated by Governor Uba Sani.

“During attacks, it used to take the military about two hours to get here, but now it takes them less than thirty minutes.

“This road is about 13 km, and the grading remains about 1.2 km. It covers about four communities—Banono, Angwan Ako, Kutaura, Kororo, and Bagaja.

“This is an agricultural road, and by the time it is completed, farm inputs will be brought in, and the farm produce will serve not only Kajuru but the state and beyond.

“This is the first time since inception that we are having this kind of road in Kajuru.

“We don’t know how to thank His Excellency, but we know that, come the 2027 elections, there will be no vacancy in Sir Kashim Ibrahim House.

“I know more roads are coming, and when that happens, we know Kajuru is for APC because we are assuring the Governor of our support when the time comes,” he added.
