The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) in Taraba State has commended the North East Development Commission (NEDC) for several intervention projects that the commission have executed in the state to bring succour to the people.
In a press Statement issued on Saturday in Jalingo and signed by the leader of the coalition in the State Dr Joseph Gimba, and the Public Relations Officer Mr Bulus Daniel, the CSO notes that interventions in education, health, ICT and capacity building by the NEDC has touched the lives of Thousands in the State.
The statement reads in part that “the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Taraba State has applauded the various interventions undertaken in Taraba State ranging from Education, Health, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Capacity Building, Infrastructure and Livelihood by the North-East Development Commission, NEDC.
“The NEDC has over the years made frantic efforts to contribute towards the development of the region with Taraba State inclusive. The commission played a key role in the construction of the Mayo Ndaga bridge in the Sardauna Local government area of the State, the Construction of the Medical Imaging Unit at the Federal Medical Centre FMC, Jalingo as well as the training and empowerment of 300 women and youth among others as commendable feats.
“As a coalition, we specifically laud the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer CEO of NEDC Alh Muhammed Alkali for his commitment and dedication to ensuring that communities ravaged by crisis are redeveloped to give the residents a sense of belonging.
“We commend the visit of the CEO to Taraba State to inspect some ongoing projects as well as hand over completed ones amounting to about 134 Projects to the Taraba State Government.
“It is very important to at this point also commend the good initiatives of the State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas and to urge the Taraba State Government to ensure it builds on the existing cordial working relationships with the Northeast Development Commission to move the State forward”.
