The General Overseer, Dominion City Church Bishop David Ogbueli, says he wants to speak to the church and religious leaders about the need to be part of the moral reformation of the youth in the southeast region.
The General Overseer of the Dominion City Church, worldwide, and founder of the Goldenheart Foundation, Bishop David Ogbueli, stated this when he led a delegation of his members to Gov. Alex Otti of Abia State, disclosing that they are in the state for the Southeast redemption and development summit, where they will speak to the church and religious leaders on the need to be part of the moral reformation of the youths in the region.
Bishop Ogbueli, who stated that the church is much concerned about the collapse of moral values among youths in the southeast, said the summit will equip the church and religious leaders with the right approach to championing the campaign right from the church and its domain.
While applauding the numerous achievements of Governor Otti within a short time in office, Bishop Ogbueli said he would be fulfilled to see Abia state champion the all-round emancipation of the Southeast region.
Responding, the Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, said his government is partnering with relevant organisations to secure the future of Abia youths through meaningful engagement.
While noting that the youth need a platform to be useful to themselves and society at large, Otti said that the youths need access to finance, training, retraining, and mentorship, adding that his administration is open to support from reputable organisations in that regard.
“It is important we get our youths to do something, we want to thank you for the initiative, and they’re initiatives we have already keyed into, We believe that a lot of our people just need access to finance, access to training and retraining, and mentoring, just support from the government will keep them off the street.”
“Even here, because we understand how the economy works, we immediately came on board and started clearing salary arrears. You stifle the economy when people work and you don’t pay them. It’s only when they have money in their pockets that they can be able to buy, and buying decisions supported by the money in their pockets will bring chains of other decisions.
“As somebody is buying, somebody is selling, somebody is selling, somebody is producing, and as somebody is producing, the economy is growing; it keeps going in a circle like that,” Otti noted.
He said that his administration’s observation of the level of infrastructural decay in the state, with particular reference to Aba, informed his decision to immediately commence rehabilitation of roads, adding that the action has started bringing back businesses that had hitherto left Aba, the commercial hub of the state.
Governor Otti, while recalling the roles played by different churches, including Dominion City, in ensuring his victory in the 2023 general elections, thanked Bishop Ogbueli for all his services to God and mankind, stating, “We thank you for all the work you are doing for mankind and for God. During the campaigns, we visited your Church in Umuahia, and we were well received We thank you for allowing us to use the platform that you set up.
“A great majority of the body of Christ supported us; some of them went out of their way campaigning for us, talking to people, and came out on election day protecting their votes and ensuring that the right thing was done.”
