Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, the Nigerian Special Envoy to Chad for the summit of the Heads of State and Governments of the Lake Chad Basin Commission on the upcoming Presidential Election in Chad, has issued a call for maintaining peace and order during the electoral process.
In a statement released in N’Djamena on the eve of the Presidential election in Chad, Ambassador Kingibe urged all presidential candidates, political parties, leaders, and the general public to uphold the peace and orderliness demonstrated during the campaigns. He further encouraged citizens to remain calm and patient after voting, awaiting the official announcement of election results by the legally authorized body, ANGE.

Ambassador Kingibe emphasized the importance of resolving any challenges, complaints, or grievances peacefully through electoral guidelines, laws, or judicial processes. He cautioned against risking the progress and sacrifices made towards democratic constitutional order by all parties involved.
On the eve of the historic Presidential election in Chad, Ambassador Kingibe congratulated the Transitional Authorities, the Chadian people, and all supporters of Chad for their journey towards restoring democratic constitutional order through peaceful elections.
As the Special Envoy to Chad of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), Ambassador Kingibe highlighted the close monitoring and support provided to Chad throughout its transition process since May 2021. He praised the patriotism, mutual tolerance, and spirit of compromise demonstrated by the Chadian people and Transitional Authorities in their efforts to build a peaceful, stable, and prosperous democratic country.
Acknowledging the challenges faced during the transition process, Ambassador Kingibe commended the resilience of the Chadian people in overcoming political and security obstacles. He reassured Chad of the continued support from the leaders of the Lake Chad Basin Commission as the country prepares for the peaceful inauguration of a new democratic constitutional order.
