The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has expressed delight over the synergy among members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), amid the numerous operational successes being recorded in the fight against terrorists, insurgents, kidnappers and other criminal elements in the country.
Gen Musa, also commended the military for the renewed efforts in the fight against oil theft in the Niger Delta region which, according to him, was in line with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu towards ramping up oil production in the region.
The CDS, gave the commendation at the Strategic Operations Centre, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force.
General Musa, while saluting the bravery, doggedness and commitment of officers and soldiers on the armed forces, called for continued collaboration and cooperation among the Services and with other security agencies in the country.
He said “Though our current security challenges are daunting, they are, however, surmountable as long as we continue to work together as a team”.
While stressing the need for increased discipline among personnel, the CDS, called for all hands must be on deck to achieve the desired results.
He commended NAF personnel for their unwavering dedication and hard work and assured that he was fully committed to providing all necessary support to enable the NAF and other Services rid the Nation of its security challenges.
He also commended the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar for his leadership and encouraged the NAF to maintain the momentum and continue working collaboratively with other services to ensure the security and stability of the country.
He said “We must continue to enhance our synergy and intensify air operations to combat terrorists and other criminal elements, curbing their operational freedom and fostering favourable conditions for successful ground operations by our troops.”
The CDS was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Operations, Major General Emeka Onumajuru, and other staff officers.
