Ex-presidential photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, on Monday, dismissed long held rumours that former President Muhammadu Buhari became the “Jibrin of Sudan” after his health battle in 2017.
In an interview with Channels Television, Omoboriowo described the period of the ex-president’s health as “very challenging”.
He said, “Former President Buhari is a man of grace. His recovery was just grace. He is not Jibrin of Sudan.”
Omoboriowo said there was no marked difference between when Buhari fell ill in 2017 and when he recovered.
Recall that the former President fell ill in 2017 and was flown to the UK.
During his long stay abroad, rumours had it that he was dead and had been replaced with a clone named Jibrin from Sudan.
This claim was publicized by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi kanu.
Buhari, Nigeria’s democratically elected President from May 2015 to May 2023 had dismissed the rumours.
The former special adviser on Media and Publicity to the president then, Femi Adesina had also described the rumour of a Buhari clone as ridiculous.
The revelations are cantained in Adesina’s book titled “Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity(2015-2002) which was presented in Abuja last saturday.
