Comedian and social media influencer, Chukwuebuka Amuzie, popularly known as Brainjotter, during his show on May 25, raised over N20 million for a physically challenged fan, Queen Onwunachie.
In a post on his verified Instagram page on Thursday, Brainjotter narrated how he met the woman, stating that she was the first to attend the show and watched while his team were setting up the sound ahead of the show.
“The show I planned in Abuja wasn’t my show, it was a woman’s show. I don’t know that God had other plans,” Brainjotter spoke in pidgin English in a video released on Thursday.
“So when the show was going on, I was in my hotel room upstairs at Transcorp Hilton, so I came downstairs to check what was going on. I saw this lady sitting down. I wasn’t aware that she didn’t have hands or legs, what she wore were plastic hands and legs,” he narrated further.
Afterwards, he noted that he took pictures with her and she later went upstairs to the show. Onwunachie, who also narrated her story noted that she went upstairs to where people who had regular tickets were to stay.
Meanwhile, Brainjotter noted that he had planned to make one person a millionaire during his show, however, “God had other plans.”
During the show, Brainjotter and his comedy colleagues, one of which was Samuel Perry, known as Broda Shaggi, started to pick random people from the crowd.
Onwunachie recounted that while the selection was being made, Brainjotter asked about the lady who was on crutches, whom he met earlier. She said people started shouting that she was in the regular section.
“So as Shaggi (Broda shaggi) was about to pick someone else, my mind went straight to that lady (Onwunachie). I remembered her,” Brainjotter said.
As seen during the show, the lady was called out from where she was and brought to the front of the stage, she was aided by the bouncers and some other people to get to the stage where Brainjotter was.
“The initial plan was to raise 1 million for the lady,” he recounted.
Subsequently, he raised over N20 million, including a sponsor, who pledged to process her Visa to Canada
“So I want to say thank you to my benefactor, Brainjotter, and I want to thank Transcorp Hilton for accommodating me for the night. I want to say thank you. I am so grateful. God will bless everyone that contributed for me, God will bless you and God will bless brainjotter abundantly,” Onwunachie said.
Brainjotter further encouraged his fans not to give up on their goals and ambitions in life.
“Don’t give up on your dreams, you don’t know when God wants to bless you, it always looks like a dream. Someone (Onwunachie) who came to show paying N19,000, went home with over N20 million naira. I’ve always said that the reward for gratitude is brighter. So on behalf of myself and my team, I want to say thank you to Abuja,” Brainjotter said.
