The North-East Development Commission (NEDC) has summoned the contractor handling the construction of some structures at the National Obstetrics Fistula Center in Ningi, Bauchi State for explorations.
Managing Director /CEO of the Commission, Mohammed Goni Alkali gave the directive on Saturday when he visited the Centre to monitor the level of the projects embarked upon by NEDC.
He said that the need for the contractor to come to the NEDC headquarters for an explanation became necessary because the Commission needed to know what was causing delays in the completion of the projects.
Conducted round the projects by the Site Engineer and the Management of the Centre, Goni Alkali expressed the desire of the NEDC to see that the facilities were put to use as soon as possible.

He also stated that the Commission is desirous to see that both the Surgical ward and the skills acquisition centre were well equipped in order to facilitate treatment and rehabilitation of the patients.
The NEDC MD/CEO commended the Management of the Centre for providing care to the parents assuring that NEDC will always support the Centre to meet the objectives of its establishment.
The projects are the rehabilitation of Skills Acquisitions Center, the construction and equipping of the Surgical Ward at the Centre.
