Bauchi State Government has commenced the payment of compensations to the people affected by the award of contracts for the construction of roads and two flyover bridges in the state.
The Chairman of the Bauchi Standing Committee for the assessment and payment of compensation for the properties affected by the road construction across the state, Alh. Nuru Adamu Jumba, stated this during the payment exercise held at the former State Development Board, now Bauchi State Infrastructural Development and Maintenance Agency (BASIDMA).
He noted that the payment exercise is part of the commitment of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad-led administration to put smiles on the faces of those whose properties have been affected by the proposed infrastructural development in the state.
Nuru Adamu Jumba stressed that the Committee had begun its first phase of the compensation exercise, adding that the Committee has made payments to those affected by the proposed construction of the Wunti Market Flyover Bridge.
He used the medium to advise other individuals whose properties have already been assessed for compensation to prepare their necessary documents, such as a passport photograph of the beneficiary and any of these identifications: a voter card, a national identity card, a driver’s licence, or an international passport.
Nuru Adamu Jumba concluded by applauding the committee members for their unflinching contribution and support to the success of the exercise and urging them to maintain the tempo.
He assured that nobody will be left unattended to enable those affected to start business again, as contained in a statement by Muhammad Sani Yunusa, Information Officer.
