Bauchí State Executive Council has approved the sun of N8.1 billion for various infrastructural projects across the state.
The Commissioner, Bauchi state Ministry of works and Transport, Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of council meeting held at the government house Bauchi, on Thursday
Ketkukah explained that Governor Bala Mohammed had during his electioneering campaigns, pledged to ensure that the state was moved to greater heights, prompting the approval of several people-oriented of projects in line with the promises.
He said tbat the Council approved the design and construction of six-span bridge along Nahuta-Rauta Road in Toro local government measuring 6.5 meter long at the cost of N2,577,333,156.93 kobo.
“The second project approved by the council is the design and construction of six-span bridge at Kuka with culverts and concrete line at Mainamaji, Alkaleri LG, measuring 6.5 meter long at the cost of N3,777, 615,911.47 Kobo,” he said
“The other project approved by the Council, the Works Commissioner said include the emergency repairs of 500 meter an erosion control in Gamawa LG at the cost of N752,725,626. 98 Kobo as well as the rehabilitation of 2.5 kilometers Awala round about to 2.5 kilometers Airport road in Bauchi LG at the cost of N553,883,865.62 Kobo’
The Commissioner disclosed that the Council further approved complete rehabilitation of 2 kilometers road and construction of 200 meters water drainage at the Nigeria Army 33 Artillery Brigade Shadawanka barracks Bauchi at the cost of N501,418,324.38 Kobo.
The other project approved by the Council, the Works Commissioner said include the emergency repairs of 500 meter an erosion control in Gamawa LG at the cost of N752,725,626. 98 Kobo as well as the rehabilitation of 2.5 kilometers Awala round about to 2.5 kilometers Airport road in Bauchi LG at the cost of N553,883,865.62 Kobo.

“The total amount approved for the various works by the council today is N8,163,38,885.38 Kobo”, he said.
“As we all know the numerous construction that is going on in the state today, both in rural and urban areas, we want to assure you that the ministry of Works and transport is ready to implement all the good policies that government is bringing up for infrastructural development of our dear state”.
He therefore, called for more support to the Governor from the good people of Bauchi state to enable his administration continue to deliver the needed democracy dividends.
