Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed has ordered a 24-hour curfew in the state’s Katagum Local Government Area in response to a growing security issue resulting from last Tuesday’s End Bad Governance protest.
The Governor stated that the decision was made in response to a series of violent occurrences that resulted in the destruction of public property, theft, and victimization in the region.
The governor’s decision is detailed in a statement sent to the media in Bauchi on Monday by Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim, Secretary to the State Government.
According to the statement, Governor Mohammed has directed the security services to respond quickly to the crisis, capture those involved, and bring them to justice.
The governor also urged law-abiding residents to help with security operations during this difficult period.
