Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has underscored the importance of upholding the principles of rectitude, honour, trustworthiness, morality, and integrity in the civil service.
I was speaking on Tuesday at the new banquet hall of the government house during the swearing-in ceremony of the twelve newly appointed permanent secretaries.
In his speech, the governor emphasised that the selection of the officials was grounded in merit, based on their respective track records and histories of accomplishment.
Bala Mohammed urged them to collaborate effectively with the honourable commissioners of their respective ministries and engage with stakeholders to enhance the welfare of our citizens.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries are as follows: Ibrahim Yusheu Isah and Liatu M Gayus from Alkaleri, both from Alkaleri LGA; Sirajo Muhammad Jaja and Muhammad Hamisu Garba, both from Bauchi LGA; and Yakubu Bello from Darazo LGA.
Others are Ibrahim Mato Sulaiman from Dass LGA, Chiroma Ahmed Malle, PhD, from Jama’are LGA, Auwalu Shehu Jalo from Ningi LGA, Samaila Muhammad Tela from Shira LGA, Shuaibu Alh Muhammad from Toro LGA, Ahmad Ali Ranga from Warji LGA, and Hamisu Mohammed from Zaki LGA.
According to him, “Their appointment marks a significant step towards bolstering the administrative framework of our state, and I am confident in their ability to contribute positively to our government’s objectives.”
He also said that their appointments were informed by the need to fill the vacuum created by the exit of some permanent secretaries who have retired from service.
Bala Mohammed charged them to uphold the culture of commitment, dedication, and transparency as the accounting officers of their respective ministries, departments, and agencies, stressing that his administration would not tolerate abuse of public office.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the new Permanent Secretary of Political Research and Economic Affairs, SSG Office, Ahmed Ali Ranga, appreciated the Governor for the opportunity and assured to justify the confidence reposed in them
The Governor then assigned portfolios to the twelve new Permanent Secretaries in the state government service: Ibrahim Yusha’u Isah Ministry of Agriculture, Liatu Gayus Ministry of Culture and Tourism, SiraJo Muhammad Jaka Ministry of Higher Education, Muhammed Hamisu Garba Ministry of Works and Transport, and Yakubu Bello Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Others are the Ibrahim Mato Sulaiman Ministry of Power, Science, and Technology; Chiroma Ahmed Malle Ministry of Rural Development and Special Duties; Auwalu Shehu Jalo Civil Service Commission; Samaila Mohammed Ministry of Water Resources; Shu’aibu Alhaji Muhammed Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management; Ahmed Ali Ranga Political Research and Economic Affairs SSG Office; and Hamisu Muhammed Dariya Ministry of Housing and Environment.
