Bauchi State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, berated former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr Nyesom Wike for what it described as unguarded and reckless utterances.
The Assembly particularly chided the Minister over a statement credited to him against the Bauchi state Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed who is Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum.
The Assembly further described the statement as, “callous and unfortunate.”
The Assembly in a motion under matters of urgent public importance states that the statement smirk of illiteracy, illegality and contemptuous.
Barrister Habibu, member representing Kirfi Constituency in the Assembly urged the Assembly to drag the Minister to a Court of law until he explained the rationale behind such a criminal and contemptuous utterance.
Other Members of the Assembly who supported the motion stressed that the Minister was envious of the achievements made by Governor Bala Mohammed made as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory during the PDP administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The Deputy Speaker, Jamilu Umaru Dahiru, Hon Auwal Shira, Ibrahim Tanko Burra, Lawal Garba and a host of others expressed dismay over the unfortunate allegation and urged Governor Bala Mohammed to disregard what they called “vituperative utterance.”
