Nigeria‘s President, Bola Tinubu; Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde; Founder of Akande Tunde’s Movement, Dr Kazeem Akande and Obafemi Awolowo, other prominent Nigerians were honoured by the National Councilors Forum, Southwest Zone on Thursday.
While late Sage, Awolowo bagged an Evergreen initiative award, Tinubu bagged the Sterling Progressive Achiever Award while the Oyo State Governor, Makinde who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ramota Agberemi Dabo bagged a Progressive Leader Award.
The award was held on Thursday during the Southwest Councillors Forum Conference in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Speakers at the event, include, Professor Adewunmi Taiwo and Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye who both spoke on Agriculture policy and implementation strategy.
Speaking with Nigerian Tribune, one of the awardees, Dr Kazeem Akande appreciate the organisers for the recognition.
Akande who bagged an “Outstanding Progressive personality award pledged to continue to contribute more to the development of his local government, state and Nigeria in general.
While appreciates guests at the event, including Hon. Akinsola Kayode Kehinde, Hon Olukayode A.Ayinde Opayemi JP, Hon Saul’s Adeshola Ogundare, Hon Kazeem Kolawole Arowodana, Hon Alimi Nurudeen, Hon Adedeji Adebowale, Amb Yusuf Akande, Rotn Ahmed, Farayola, Rotn Akinlabi Iziah, Rotn Akande Jamiu and many others.
