The All Progressives Congress has issued a red card to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A chieftain of the party and leader of the Progressive Movement, Barrister Lowo Obisesan, stated in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune that the PDP’s dominance in the state would come to an end in 2027. He emphasized that the party has learned from its past mistakes and is working tirelessly to ensure they are not repeated in the upcoming elections.
Obisesan revealed that members of the Progressive Movement have taken it upon themselves to rescue the party by uniting as a formidable team. According to him, “The vision of the Progressive Movement is to ensure that the party reclaims its glory in 2027 through consultation. We have members in all 33 local government areas of the state. Our unity is driven by collective interest, not personal gain.”

He continued, “Our late leader and former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, laid a solid foundation for the party, and we are committed to upholding it. The era of individuals hijacking the party structure for personal gain is over and gone forever.”
Obisesan added, “The success of the party rests on the shoulders of progressively minded members. We have been meeting to actualize our vision. Within the next six months, the APC will bounce back stronger. As I mentioned earlier, PDP’s dominance in state politics will soon expire.”
“We will ensure unity among APC members in the state,” he concluded. “Late Ajimobi was genuinely dedicated to the state’s welfare. His legacies speak volumes about the kind of person he was. We will greatly miss him. I proudly affirm that Ajimobi was my leader in politics.”
