No fewer than 1,500 supporters from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), and Young Progressive Party (YPP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) factional leadership of the Jajiya political movement, led by the Member of the House of Representatives representing Birnin-Magaji/Kaura Namoda Constituency in Zamfara State, Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji.

Prominent politicians who joined the APC Jajiya political movement include the former State APGA Chairman, Alhaji Rabiu Salisu Bature Bungudu, along with hundreds of supporters, and the State YPP Chairman, Alhaji Sani Anka Yellow, who also brought hundreds of supporters into the fold.

Other defectors include PDP leaders from Shinkafi Local Government Area, such as former Director General, Alhaji Nasiru Yusuf Shinkafi (Officer); Shinkafi Local Government PDP Elder, Malam Ibrahim Tado Shinkafi; PDP Women Leader, Hajiya Abu Alasan; and PDP Youth Leader, Lukman Hamidu Shinkafi, along with thousands of PDP supporters. Among them are notable figures like Hajiya Zainab Aliyu Lawyer, Jon. Mas’udu Wada, and Hon. Babangida Adamu.

Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, who received the defectors through the State Chairman of the APC Jajiya Movement, Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya Anka, described their decision as a welcome development for the APC.

He expressed confidence that the calibre of people, particularly leaders of political parties, joining the APC would strengthen the Jajiya movement in the state.

“The APC leadership under Hon. Aminu Jaji is all about transparency, accountability, good governance, and providing dividends of democracy to the common man,” he said.

Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya Anka assured the defectors of fair treatment and a good working relationship to enhance the party’s capacity in the state.

“On behalf of Rt. Hon. Aminu Jaji, I welcome you to our great party, the APC, the strongest party in the state,” he said.

“We are proud of the good representation of Kaura Namoda/Birnin-Magaji Federal Constituency by Rt. Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji and his able APC leadership under the Jajiya political movement across the state,” he stressed.
