The Anti-pipeline Vandalisation/Oil Theft Task Force, (AVOTTG) in the six states of the Niger Delta region has commended the dogged and patriotic efforts of the retail section of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) headed by Mr Huub Stockman for ensuring that all petrol stations have fuel nationwide.
This is even as it has vowed to stop all forms of pipeline vandalisation in the Niger Delta region.
The group made of ex-militant leaders and stakeholders from oil-producing communities noted that since the assumption of Stokman as the Managing Director of Retail, NNPCL, the narrative had changed drastically following the disappearance of queues, hoarding of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, and diversion of products.
The national coordinator of AVOTTG, Comrade Pathfinder Fiawei (a.k.a General Osama) in a statement issued at the end of an emergency meeting commended Stockman and his team for helping the suffering Nigerians.
The group also acknowledged that Stockman, a former Managing Director of OVH Energy Company, as a game changer in the nation’s oil sector, especially in the downstream sector.
The statement reads in part: “The leadership of Anti-Pipeline Vandalisation/Oil Theft Task Force Group in the Niger Delta region commends the Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Retail, Mr Huub Stockman, for his hard work, transparent service delivery and dedication to the retail organization, and for putting all measures and mechanism in place to curtail the shortage of petroleum products popularly known as PMS in the country.
“We as stakeholders in the oil sector categorically and unequivocally state that since Mr. Huub Stockman assumed office as the Managing Director, Retail of the NNPCL, the increasing cases of queues in the petrol stations across the country and diversion of petroleum products and hoarding of PMS in most of the petrol stations are now a thing of the past.
“As foremost ex-militant leaders who are deeply involved in the war against pipeline vandalism, oil theft and illegal bunkering in the creeks of the Niger Delta region and as stakeholders in the nation’s oil sector, we would like to affirm that the emergence of Mr Huub Stockman as the Managing Director of NNPC Retail Limited, is one of the best things that has happened to the nation’s oil downstream sector so far.
“We shall continue to work round the clock to stop all forms of vandalisation and support the efforts of the Tinubu-led administration and the NNPCL as they work to change the narrative in the sector.”
