Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua recently took to the streets of Lagos for a jog, and it didn’t take long for fans to recognize the boxing star.

In a video he shared on X.com on Sunday, excited onlookers greeted him with cheers and fist-bumps as the boxer jogged down the street.

In his post, Joshua shared his thoughts on the support he receives from his fans.

“I love the game. I love the hustle. I feel like one of them ball players you know? Like Bird, Magic, James, Jordan, Kobe or something,” he wrote, comparing himself to basketball legends.

However, as Joshua reflected on his career, he also raised a question saying, “You know I got dough, I could leave the game… But if I leave… Are the fans still gonna love me, man?” he asked, adding, “I get love out here in streets man.”

Commenting on his post, Balogun Ridwan who tweets as #BalogunREADONE wrote, “AJ we are proud of you, you have got the street cred.”

#MichealNiiboi wrote, “Nice to see you in good spirits , you’ve been through a lot & have also achieved a lot , Africa loves you man, you represent us , much respect.”

#stevealton1 commented, “I think you have achieved enough in the sport, congrats. Fans come and go, giving is better than receiving. Share your knowledge and help people achieve their dreams, love conquers all.”

#simplysnipes similarly wrote, “Just try all your possible best to leave on a high, leave a legacy, invest and impact in the people.

“Give them a monument that will forever stays long after you’re gone. Legacy is the key! Invest in your people, invest in your country, Grow Nigeria.”
