The embattled Provost of Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, Dr Wahab Azeez has said he still awaits the decision of the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa on the outcome of the investigation of the allegations levelled against him by some staff and students of the College.
Recall that Dr Azeez was asked to step aside as the Provost since 2024 having been accused of embezzlement and high-handedness.
When Tribune Online chatted him regarding the status of the case on Friday, Dr Azeez said he is expectant but has not heard anything yet even though hinted that the Council Chairman submitted report to the Ministry since 20th of December, 2024.
Meanwhile, Dr. Wahab expressed confidence that the Minister would uphold justice and fairness, reiterating his assurances that those allegations are baseless and frivolous.
He added that he never committed any misdeed as the Provost of the College.
“Immediately the new Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa was appointed, i submitted an updated report to his office, briefing him development in the College and that they should also ask the Council Chairman to release the report of their investigation.
“I got the information that they submitted their report on the 20th of December, 2024. Since that time, i have been expecting the Ministry to do its review and make resolution on the issue.
“Up till now, I am still expectant. I have not heard any information.
“I am very confident that the Minister will uphold justice and fairness because as the Provost i have added more value to the College.
“I also learned there was a time he visited the College and he told them he was impressed with the infrastructure he met on ground.
“He who alleges must prove. I can assure you that all those allegations levelled against me are frivolous and baseless.
“They cannot be substantiated. I have never committed any misdeed when i was on ground as the Provost,” he said.
