Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has won the GovTech Public Service Award, in the Category of the best SUBEB in ICT integration.
The award was presented to the Benue SUBEB Chairman, Grace Adagba, at an event, tagged: “Digital innovations as a catalyst for the Renewed Hope Agenda,” put together by the Bureau for Public Service Reforms, in Abuja, last Friday.
Benue SUBEB won the award in recognition of the outstanding digital initiatives undertaken at the board under the Alia-led government, significantly contributing to President Bola Tinubu’s digital transformation agenda in public service.
Under the Alia-led administration, several digital initiatives such as the verification and implementation of a centralised and automated payroll system, comprehensive audit of the staff of the board, introduction of Computer-Based Test for teachers’ recruitment (the first of its kind in the state) to ensure transparency and fairness in the process, have been undertaken at the board.
Adagba, was equally honoured with the ‘Distinguished GovTech Trailblazers Award’, for exceptionally discharging her duties as the SUBEB boss.
Governor Alia described the awards as a clear indication that the attention his administration has given to a once collapsed educational sector in the state, is already producing positive results.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Alia, while congratulating the Benue SUBEB boss and the entire ministry of education and knowledge management for the feat, assured the entire people of Benue that the positive results of the reforms initiated by his administration, will be felt in all the sectors.
