Veteran Nigerian comedian Atunyota Akpobome, also known as Ali Baba and his wife, Mary, are celebrating a major milestone as their triplet sons mark their first birthday.

The couple shared photos of the boys on Instagram on Friday, marking the first time they have publicly revealed their faces.

Mary expressed her gratitude in a post on Instagram, writing, “Happy 1st Birthday, Kings Aaron, Alexander & Andrew! Faithful God, I bow before You in humble adoration and say, Thank You, Lord!”

“You are indeed ALWAYS on time! She added.”

The joyful mother went ahead to share additional photos of the triplets on her Instagram story.

The comedian similarly shared the photo of the triplets on his Instagram story.

PUNCH Online reports that Ali Baba had on April 1, 2024, announced that his wife delivered a set of triplets, with many initially considering the announcement as an April Fool’s joke.

However, the comedian later in the year explained how his plan to have a son with his wife, Mary, at 59 unexpectedly led to the birth of triplets.

He noted that his wife had a strong desire for another son, especially after their children had travelled abroad, leaving the house feeling empty.

The comedian explained that she initially considered adopting more children but later decided she would prefer to have her own, which led them to explore IVF.

Ali Baba said their initial plan was to fertilise two eggs, hoping for one successful pregnancy. However, one of the fertilised eggs unexpectedly split, resulting in the birth of the triplets.
