Immediate past Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Akwa Ibom State chapter, Engr. Ukeme, Okpob has been conferred with the National Fellowship Award of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
Akpob, the Managing Director/CEO of one of the leading construction/Consulting firms in the state, Opulence 5 Contractors Ltd, presented his Fellowship award to his professional colleagues, the media and the entire Akwa Ibom people, during an interactive session with select journalists in Uyo on Sunday.
Expressing fulfilment and appreciation to the organizers of the award ceremony, Okpob attributed his latest achievement to the grace of God and dedication to assigned duties at all times.
According to him, the event which took place in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), during the 2024 edition of Fellowship Awards Conferment on deserving members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers on Thursday, July 25, has elevated him to the rank of ‘Fellow’ in his professional organization.
“I must say that I felt a sense of fulfilment when I took up a career in Engineering, I didn’t really know what the future holds for me but I executed every given assignment with complete dedication, excellent delivery within my capacity and God has rewarded me beyond measure.
“My advice to my upcoming colleagues is for them to be diligent and pursue the career with a goal-oriented mindset, avoid cutting corners and God would definitely reward your efforts,” he prayed.
He however expressed appreciation to the the leadership of Engr Mrs Margaret Oguntala, the National President of NSE, for finding him fit for the honour, pledging that he will double his service as a guiding light, impart knowledge, foster collaboration, and continue to champion the advancement of engineering principles for the betterment of the society.
Our correspondent reports that Engr Ukeme Okpob was nominated by the Board of Fellows, based on his remarkable contributions and dedication to the field of engineering and service to humanity.
Commenting on the award, the immediate past Vice Chairman of the organization in the state, Engr. Emem Ezekiel, said that Engr Okpob stands as a beacon of excellence within the engineering community and beyond, noting that the award was well deserved.
Okpob’s profile made available to the media shows that he has served as a member, the Board of the Akwa Ibom State Procurement Council and Member of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).
