The Yoruba social-political organisation, Afenifere, has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, on his 50th birthday.
The factional leader of the group, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, in a statement on Friday, commended the monarch for preserving culture and tradition of Yoruba people.
Signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the Adebanjo-led faction, Justice Faloye, described the monarch as a pride of the Yoruba race and prayed for a peaceful, equitable and progressive reign of the Oduduwa house.
Similarly, the Executive Director of Operations at the Nigeria Port Authority, Olalekan Badmus, commended Oba Ogunwusi for demonstrating “exemplary leadership characterised by dedication, compassion, and a commitment to fostering cultural heritage and unity”.
Badmus in his congratulatory message to the Ooni said the monarch’s reign was marked by a vision for peace and progress.
“His (Ooni) efforts in promoting cultural awareness and social development have not only uplifted the Ife community but have also inspired many across Nigeria and the diaspora.
