Super Eagles Striker, Victor Osimhen has revealed that Jose Peseiro’s side has two objectives against Ivory Coast when both teams clash on Thursday evening at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Osimhen said the objectives of the Super Eagles when they face Ivory Coast are; to be more efficient in front of goal and not to miss the opportunities they created against the host.
The Super Eagles head to the game after playing a 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea in their Group A opener last Sunday while Ivory Coast won 2-0 against Guinea-Bissau last Saturday.
“We told ourselves after our draw against Equatorial Guinea that the game against Côte D’Ivoire will not be easy because the fans will rally behind their team,” Osimhen told CAF’s official website.
“Côte d’Ivoire has excellent players. Our objective will be to be more efficient in front of goal, not to miss the opportunities we create,” the Napoli attacker concluded.
The match between Nigeria and Ivory Coast will be played at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé.
