Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi has spoken about his new role in head coach Jose Peseiro’s 3-4-3 system.
Iwobi said the team doesn’t really need much from him, because he and Frank Onyeka have been told by Peseiro to control the game and also defend as a team.
The former Arsenal star spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final clash with Angola on Friday.
“I have been told to manage and keep the ball for my team. They don’t really need much from me when they’re creating up-front,” the Fulham star said.
“There’s Chukwueze, Moses, Lookman and Victor who can do that so we have a lot of creativity.
“I and Frank have been told to control the game as much as we can, and first of all, to defend as a team. I’m trying to do my job for the team,” Iwobi added.
