Moses Simon says the Super Eagles will keep striving to achieve their target at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles earned a place in the semi-final at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations following a hard-earned 1-0 victory against the Palancas Negras of Angola at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Friday.
Simon set up Ademola Lookman for the only goal of the game four minutes before the break.
Jose Peseiro’s side are now two games away from winning a fourth AFCON title.
The winger, who was named Man of the Match after the keenly contested encounter, stated that the team will not relax untill they win the title.
“It’s good to win the Man of the Match award again. I’m happy we won and can now look forward to playing in the semi-final,” Simon told a press conference attended by Arogidigba Global Journal in Abidjan.
“We said it before the start of the competition that we want to win the trophy. Our target remain the same.
“We are nearly there now. It’s just for us to keep working hard and approach the next game like we have been doing.”
The Super Eagles will face the winner of the game between Cape Verde and South Africa in the semi-final at the Stade la Paix Bouake on Wednesday.
