AFCON 2023: CAF will increase prize cash by 40%

The Confederation of African Soccer (CAF) has elevated the prize cash for the 2023 Arica Cup of Nations, AFCON.

The winner of the biennial competitors will go house with $7 million.

The runners-up will now get $4 million , whereas every of the 2 semi-finalists will obtain $2,500,000

Every of the 4 quarter-finalists will get $1,300,000.

“CAF has made important progress over the previous two years in rising the Prize Cash of the AFCON and all its different main competitions,” President of Africa’s soccer governing physique, Patrice Motsepe, informed CAFonline.

“We now have elevated the prize cash of the AFCON Winner to USD 7 000 000 which is a 40% enhance from the earlier AFCON Prize Cash. I’m assured {that a} portion of the prize cash will contribute to creating soccer and in addition profit all of the soccer stakeholders, in addition to help our Member Associations with their administrations.”

The thirty fourth version of the AFCON finals will begin subsequent week Saturday with the opening sport between hosts Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau.

The competitors will finish on Sunday, February 11.
