Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Friday paid a condolence visit to the immediate family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
This was disclosed in a statement signed and released by the Osun governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, in Osogbo.
According to Rasheed, Adeleke was accompanied by the state Commissioner for Federal Affairs, Nike Adeleke, and was received by the widow of the late General, Mariya Lagbaja, alongside top army officers.
Lagbaja, an indigene of Ilobu, Osun state, passed away on Tuesday in Lagos.
During the visit, Rasheed noted, “The State Governor signed the condolence register where he paid glowing tributes to the deceased, whom he described as a great son of Nigeria and Osun State.’”
“A prayer session was also conducted, with the Governor pledging full state support for the burial and for the family after the burial.”
