Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has invited the Vice President Kashim Shettima, former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Italian envoy, Stefano Leo, to the industrial investment summit slated for September.
Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Revd Bunmi Jenyo, at a press conference in Osogbo, yesterday, disclosed that the summit which was organised in conjunction with Ravicom Integrated Concept Nigeria led by Prince Rotimi Awelewa, was to bring together leading Investors, industry experts, government officials and entrepreneurs to explore industrial investment opportunities in agriculture, mining, ICT, commerce & tourism in various local governments in the state.
Noting that Shettima will declare the 5-day summit open on September 10, Jenyo disclosed that the Consul General of the Italian Embassy will deliver a keynote address.
He stated that the summit set an agenda for accelerated industrial investment in Osun, underpinned by sustainable and inclusive development, through focused discussions and deliberation,
“The summit seeks to identify and address key challenges and opportunities for transforming Osun State’s economy, with a particular emphasis on the role of agriculture, industrial advancement, manufacturing, tourism and capital investment.
“The summit is focusing on driving double-digit industrial investment and economic growth in the State’s senatorial districts,” Jenyo said.
He added that the summit will afford the government the opportunity of providing necessary infrastructure for industrial and commercial benefits of the State.
Jenyo added that the summit will also be identifying revenue generation windows from natural resources and manpower capacity to make the State financially buoyant and independent.
The Lagos State Government or Chairman of the South West Governors’ Forum, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji are expected to attend the Summit.”
