Nigerian striker Akor Adams has completed his transfer from French side Montpellier to Spanish La Liga outfit Sevilla in a deal worth €5.5m, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on X on Saturday.
“Exclusive story confirmed: Akor Adams joins Sevilla from Montpellier on €5.5m deal. He’s just landed in Spain with his agent,” Romano wrote.
The 24-year-old endured a difficult campaign at Montpellier this season, netting just three goals and providing one assist in over a dozen appearances, a significant drop from his impressive debut season when he scored seven times in the French league following his move from Norwegian side Lillestrøm.
The former Flying Eagles forward’s arrival at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium could further limit fellow Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho’s playing time, with the former Leicester City striker yet to feature for Los Nervionenses in over a month.
Sevilla, who suffered a shock 4-1 Copa del Rey defeat to second-tier side Almeria recently, currently sit 11th in La Liga with 26 points from 20 matches, just seven points above the relegation zone.
The Spanish outfit will hope Adams can rediscover his scoring touch to help improve their fortunes in the second half of the season.
