Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) on Tuesday matriculated a total of 2,955 students into various degree courses of the institution for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Delivering her address at the university’s 16th unbroken matriculation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Smaranda Olarinde, congratulated the matriculating students, noting that the institution is committed to redefining education in Nigeria and globally.
She explained that 2,507 were admitted as regular students, 34 admitted into the Open and Distance Learning Programme (ODLP), while the remaining 414 students joined various part-time programmes.
The VC, who said that the institution is committed to providing quality and functional education, fostering innovation, and instilling core values to empower its students to become leaders of positive change, noted that ABUAD clocked 15 years of uninterrupted and seamless academic activities on January 4, 2025.
She charged the new students to embrace hard work and shun vices capable of hindering their academic pursuits.
