Kingsley Moghalu, the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has revealed that he has refused all interview requests regarding Nigeria’s economic crisis over the past several months.
Moghalu, who has frequently discussed solutions for the country’s economic challenges, stated that he chose silence due to a perceived lack of meaningful dialogue.
In a post on his X handle, Moghalu explained his decision, saying, “I’ve declined virtually all requests for interviews on the Nigerian economy from Nigerian media over the past several months. Why?
“There is no point in a dialogue of the deaf. I’ve already spoken a lot about how to fix Nigeria’s economy. Anyone interested can find what I’ve said.”
He expressed frustration over the situation, noting that despite not relying on Nigeria’s economy for his personal survival, his concern for the country remains strong.
Moghalu lamented the irony of being deeply concerned about Nigeria’s economic issues purely out of passion, despite feeling that his past contributions have not led to substantial change.
