Some filling stations including the NNPC in Osun State, on Tuesday, shut their doors following the rumours of increase in petrol pump price.
Passengers were stranded while returning to their house as some commercial vehicles who did not get petrol had parked their vehicles.
Those who could afford N950 and N1,000 per litre, jerked up their fare with about 100 percent.
Some filling stations have shut their doors as early as 10am, while vehicles queued for some hours infront of the NNPC, Osogbo, expecting the filling station to open.
Commercial drivers who managed to work, jerked the fare with a short distance being charged N200 from the initial N100.
A long distance which was initially N200 was increased to N300 and N400 in the afternoon.
