Constituents of Cross River North of Cross River State are in excitement following the facilitation of foreign postgraduate scholarships for its indigents and the construction of over five basic school structures in their Senatorial District by Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe representing the zone at the National Assembly.
Jarigbe secured the scholarship for fifteen of his constituents to study at any foreign institutions of their choice to be funded by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF.
In a statement on the Chairman Senate Committee on Gas through his Media office explained that the scholarship programme is poised to provide the graduates with opportunities for advanced education abroad.
He said; “Enhancing their skills and knowledge to have a profound impact in human capital development in the Senatorial District, the State and Country at large.
“The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation and upkeep; totaling Two Hundred and Forty Thousand Pounds, equivalent to Four Hundred & Eighty Million Naira.
The statement added that the Lawmaker is focused on his passion for service delivery for his constituents and won’t be distracted by primordial sentiments and divisive politics.
In addition to the Educational grants, more five School building projects facilitated by the Lawmaker have reached advanced stages of completion.
They are; Government Primary School, Bukumaya-Bisu Ward, Blukonu Migrant School Bebi, St. Peter Primary School Begitiasu-Bendi 1, Government Primary School, Belinge-Becheve and Government Primary School Bishiri.
Speaking on the development via phone chat prominent stakeholder of the zone Mr. Dorn Cklaimz Enamhe appreciated the Lawmaker’s efforts in improving the Human capacity of his constituents.
“The Senator’s plans to better the lives of his constituents is the only reliable parameter to measure his achievements and by the grace of God the achievements of Senator Jarigbe Agom over the years as a Federal lawmaker includes infrastructural developments, improved healthcare access, social welfare programs and other human capital projects”
Reacting to a recent media report which accused the Senator of not doing enough, Dorn noted that Jarigbe’s achievements outweigh the unfounded and sinister propaganda of the sponsors.
He said; “The insinuations, figures and stories presented by some unscrupulous elements in their statements are not only misleading but also seek to deliberately ignore the significant achievements of the Most Distinguished Senator.
Dorn stressed that the Senator’s plans to better the lives of his constituents is the only reliable parameter to measure his achievements.
“The Senator will continue to welcome criticism but will also not allow propaganda to derail him. He is someone who believes in doing more than in talking.
“We implore our constituents to work in collaboration with the Senator to enable him to address issues that affect our Senatorial District. The Senator is always open to constructive criticism and solutions that will enable him to serve our constituents better, he added.
